World Maker Faire NYC is this weekend!

Feto Soap’s Make Your Own Soap Booth will be at World Maker Faire New York September 17 & 18th! Maker Faire is a newfangled outdoor fair that brings together science, art, craft, engineering, and music in a fun, energized, and exciting public forum. The family-friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds of makers and the DIY spirit! For more information about Maker Faire New York, visit makerfaire.com.

Where does Maker Faire New York take place? Maker Faire New York will take place over two days: Saturday, September 17th from 10 AM – 7 PM and Sunday, September 18th from 10 AM – 6 PM. Te House of Tea

If you live in the Houston area, you can now purchase Feto Soap products at Te House of Tea located at 1927 Fairview @ Woodhead in the Montrose area. They carry sandalwood vanilla, yuzu japanese citrus, white tea & ginger & lavender patchouli soap, bath salts, candles & dry oil sprays. They are the only place to get lavender patchouli candles – they are made custom just for them!

In addition to my soaps, they have dance nights on Friday – Tango and on most Saturday nights you’ll find me here dancing.  This teahouse also has nice dinner fare – the Chicken in a Blanket is my favorite!

WSP’s Handmade Product Swap

If you have not participated in a swap, it is lots of fun.  A swap is where you mail items to a “co-ordinator” and then receive the same number of different items (including recipe) from other participants. A swap is a great way to show off your products and get new ideas. For WSP’s Hosted swap you send in two Full Size Homemade Products (Soaps, Lotions, Candles, Etc.) that you have made and get you two different products back! Since WSP is sponsoring this swap, you will get TEN – 2 ounce bottles of fragrance oil! (they pick which ones!)

Maker Faire through Kai’s Eyes

Kai Maker Faire SFMy friend Kai from Austin flew up to San Francisco to be my assistant for Maker Faire and he blogged about his experience here.

I have been working on orders pretty much non-stop since I got back from San Francisco and the happy little packages will be making their way towards you now! Perhaps I will write about Maker Faire this Sunday.

At Maker Faire I will have oval, round, rectangle, floral patterned and bees & honeycomb molds for people to use to create their own soap. I will also be bringing a box of toys, glitter and fragrances so you can make your soap look and have whatever you desire in it!

Here’s a fun cow soap I made with blue colorant, gold glitter and fresh rain fragrance in an oval mold.
