Learn to Make Soap in Austin, TX
I have been perfecting the process since I started the Make Your Own Soap Booth at the Maker Faire Austin 2007 and have won two awards for my booth at Maker Faire Bay Area 2011 - Editor's Choice from Craft Magazine and an Education Maker award. I helped over 400 people make custom bars of soap over two days. There were over 750 Exhibitors and 100,000 attendees at Maker Faire Bay Area 2011.
Please let us know if you think our booth would be a good fit for your event. It's great for birthday parties, retreats and team building events.
Soapmaking Party F.A.Q.s
How long does it take?
This project can be completed in 2 hours. The participants choose the color, fragrance & toy for their soap and pour it into a mold where it needs to set. The soap sets up in about 20-30 minutes. The soaps can be left unattended while they set and they can collect them when they leave.
The soap mold is also its package. It has a lid that closes.
How much does it cost?
The cost is $225 for 10 people and $12 for each additional person. Two hours of expert instruction and guidance from Lisa Chouinard, Speaker at the 2009 Handcrafted Soapmaker Guild Conference and recipient of both an Education Award and Craft Award at the World Famous Maker Faire Bay Area 2011. The fee is paid at least 10 days in advance by check to reserve the date for your event. This fee is non-refundable, as it must be used to secure all of the materials needed for the event.
What do you bring to the party?
I will bring my:
· Professional soap melter
· Natural Soap Base
· Soap Colorant
· Re-usable individual soap molds
· Many, many Toys to choose from
· Stirring implements
· Containers in which to mix the soap before it goes into the mold
· Handmade By: card for each soap
· All the other items needed to craft a bar of soap at your location
